England's Cotswolds Village Walk

We really enjoyed our hosts. They were wonderful and Diana, our guide, and John, our driver, were great. Diana included some visits to gardens of some of her friends and John even brought us some of his homemade blackberry whiskey!

I think one thing that made a big difference for us was that local we had local people guiding us and showing us the area. It was a very personal touch to be able to sit down to dinner with our hosts and get to know them. It more like dinner with friends then part of a tour. We thought that was better than some tours that use Americans that are familiar with the area, but not native.

This was our first walking tour, but it will not be our last! Thanks for your help!!

Regards,
Mr and Mrs. R. Fluharty

Jan, Lorna, Bill and I wanted to let you know right away how pleased we were with all aspects of the Cotswolds Village walk. We hardly stopped laughing (you really should emphasize the fun involved).

Our accommodations were extremely comfortable and the meals were sensational. Our group was very congenial and our two guides, Richard and Claire, were so good-natured and kind to us. In short we loved it all and wish we were just about to go again. Ah well. Did I mention that the weather was perfect? Can't imagine a better trip.

Thanks, J. Janes

Ireland West Coast Walk

I wanted to send my heartfelt thanks to you and Bernie for opening up your home to all of us for our recent walk in Ireland. I have been in touch with almost everyone on the walk since I have returned and it's a unanimous decision that your walk was fabulous. Couldn't have asked for better weather, better scenery, better food ( may I have Bernie's recipe for the ham and cabbage dish?) or better hosts! I saw Steve and Anne last weekend to share pictures and compare notes. I'll be sure to pass on your website to my friends and looking forward to traveling to Ireland again!

If you're searching for a walk that accomodates your capabilities, broadens your knowledge of the wonderful and mystical land of Ireland and provides you with so much enjoyment that you're reluctant to return home, then search no farther than the Ireland West Coast Walk. Gerry Greensmyth is a knowledgable guide and fantastic host. The bed and breakfast in which you stay feels like home. Kudos to Gerry and Bernie. I highly recommend this trip.

France's Provence Walk

The entire area was lovely; I enjoyed the variety and well chosen lodging , hosts- and excellent food. What a treat- so many opportunities to appreciate the variety of Provence cooking. I also want to express my appreciation of the personality, organization, knowledge and flexibility of our guide. What a treat- Crete and the Amalfi Coast are next on my list- keep me on your mailing list.

Sincerely,
J. Thompson

Actually, I went on the Provence Walk in Aug/Sept this year and loved it! Met some great people and had a lot of fun. The guide did a great job of tailoring the walks to our abilities. I also liked the choice of accommodations and restaurants, a nice variety. I'm recommending your walks to all my friends, and plan on going on another one next year!

Thanks again for a great trip!

Annette and I got home safely yesterday afternoon. We had lots of fun during our four days in Paris - and we didn't even mind the jostling crowds much.

We both loved our Provence walking tour with you. Your selection of nice small hotels and great places to eat in picturesque towns was terrific.

You're an excellent story teller and I especially appreciated your knowledge of local plants and animals as well as the history of the places we walked. You were a great guide with lots of patience and very attentive to our needs and concerns. Thanks for making this a delightful and memorable vacation experience.

Italy's Tuscany Walk

The hotel is extremely beautiful- the small touches provided by our hosts, the guide so patient and knowledgeable and the countryside so brilliant. I have been on many walking tours before, but this was the best - and it was the least expensive!

The Tuscany tour was fantastic. Our guide, Leslie Bowles, was perfect. She was very knowledgeable, fun and all around great. Il Poggio was friendly and clean and had delicious, varied meals. This was probably our best foreign trip ever. Thank you — we're trying to find time for another walking tour.

Greece's Crete Walk

One word: fabulous!! The people and the guides were absolutely wonderful. The walks spectacular. I took a course in ancient Greek history and learned more in a week on this walk then in a year in this course. The walking was strenuous but not too much- I actually lost 5 pounds and ate much more than I do at home. I cannot wait to go to on your Greek Island's walk next year.

Greece's Culture Walk

I would like you to know that my recent trip to Greece (the "cultural walk") was wonderful. It was everything that I hoped it would be and more! The accomadations were excellent (especially in Kardamyli). Our guide was knowledgeable, competent, and helpful in every way--overall he was terrific. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see the landscape of Greece as well as get a feel for the modern (as well as the past) culture.

The terrain was more rugged than I was expecting (although the experienced hikers in the group didn't think so). I would definitely emphasize the need for hiking boots to be well broken-in (especially for those used to walking on flat terrain). Distance was not a problem, but the walks were very "up and down". "Down" was hard on the great toes as I was not used to landing on them repeatedly as we descended. "Up" was a more cardiovascular workout. Individuals used to hiking in mountains would not have any problems. I live in an area with very flat terrrain and it was hard to anticipate/prepare for such walking.

I drank the local water as well as bottled water and had no problems.

The most difficult part was leaving to go home--I truly loved it there.

I would like to know if you are aware of any other walking/trekking tours in Greece because I really want to go back again.

Thank you for all your pre-trip assistance. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Sincerely,
C Pilzninski

Secrets of Switzerland Walk

Judy,

We are back from Switzerland! We had no point of reference for this trip, but it exceeded our expectations! Of course what helped was the fabulous weather. We hiked in the rain for 1 and 1/2 hours on Friday, up to the Hotel Weisshorn, and by the time we were finished our yummy lunch, it had stopped raining.

We could not have wished for a better and nicer guide, than Cedric. If I ever go again, I would ask for him. Jim, the other hiker, and the two of us were well matched. Although I do think he was just a bit more fit. He was a great companion. We sure had a great time and a lot of laughs. The hiking did stretch us, literally! However, we were thrilled that we did it. I don't know how we would have done this hike without a guide - thank you Judy for your efforts on our behalf.

Our dream of 20 years has come and already gone! It was a fabulous experience! We had to pinch oursleves each day to see if we were really here.

Switzerland is absolutely beautiful! I could go on and on but I won't.

Thanks again Judy,
Maggie
